  The very essence of the transition to lighting devices built on LEDs as light sources is due to energy savings. But LED lights are very different. The key characteristic of LED luminaires is their efficiency, i.e. ratio of luminous flux (lm) to power consumption (W). The higher the efficiency, the less power is needed to achieve the required illumination.

   So, why overpay and buy better devices? See the chart below.

  As we can see, the initial investments are not equivalent. The difference between the most efficient device and the most inefficient in terms of initial investment is 3500 rubles. or 51%. After 2 years of operation in 12-hour mode, the costs are equalized. After 5 years, the difference in total costs is 4932 rubles. in favor of a more efficient one.  

  This calculation does not take into account such parameters as:

1. Warranty. Usually, a cheaper device has a lower warranty period and a higher failure rate.

2. Recession of the luminous flux. A high-performance device is usually designed in such a way as to provide the most comfortable operating conditions for the LED (load, heat sink, etc.). Those. after 5 years, you may see lower illumination under a less efficient fixture.

3. The service life of a high-performance device usually exceeds the warranty period. And with a margin. This means that you will be able to operate an initially more expensive device even after the warranty period, and you will have to change a low-performance device, incurring premature  investment.

4. For more efficient equipment, less electricity is required, which saves on the cross section of supply wires and on the power of automatic machines in power cabinets.
